Tabor City, NC – The Tabor City Town Council is pleased to announce that Josh Ward has been appointed as the new Town Manager following a unanimous vote during the council meeting held on [insert date]. Ward, who has been serving as Interim Town Manager since January, will officially take on the role after impressing the council and community with his dedication and leadership.

“I appreciate the vote of confidence,” said Ward. “I look forward to serving the town of Tabor City and believe we are entering a period of opportunity that I’m eager to make the most of for the benefit of our residents.”

Mayor Royce Harper expressed his support for Ward’s appointment, highlighting his performance in stepping up during a transitional period for the town. “He stepped into some big shoes and has been working hard,” said Harper. “We’re pleased to see him continue in this role.”

Ward, a Tabor City native, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy and Administration and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Since joining Tabor City’s administration, he has managed various duties, including zoning, stormwater management, and building inspections. He also has a background as a firefighter and probationary Building Inspector.

Ward was one of six applicants considered for the position, and the council selected three finalists for interviews. The decision to appoint Ward was made unanimously by the council.

The Town of Tabor City looks forward to Ward’s continued leadership as he takes on this expanded role, serving the community and guiding the town through upcoming initiatives.
